Do we all want the same thing?

Both sides of the public education versus privatized education debate can sound vitriolic.

Why are some so vigorously defending a public education system that at the same time they admit is performing poorly?

Why are some so ardently pushing for an education system utterly different than what we are accustomed to, for the chance at students performing well?

Who can argue against people taking ideas and funds to at least try something new and radical and out-of-the-box for the sake of kids all over this nation?

Why would you be against people trying to make school better for kids?

Unless – we don’t really all want the same thing.

So, defenders of the status quo public education system. . .What is it you are really after?
